Jacobowitz, Inc. has been distributing cloth cutting equipment and supplies for over 65 years. It was established by Theodore M. Jacobowitz as Jacobowitz Associates, when he became affiliated with John Bloch and the Wolf Machine Company of Cincinnati, OH in the 1940s.
For many years he was Wolf's premier sales person, primarily servicing the automotive industry in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. As he developed his Wolf Machine line, he started incorporating cutting room accoutrements and representing other machinery manufacturers, such as John Dusenbery and Rosenthal Manufacturing.
In 1980 Jacobowitz Associates became an S-corporation and changed its name to Jacobowitz, Inc.
Mr. Jacobowitz served as President of the company and continued to work for the company until he was 88 years old. He remained as President until his death in 1999. He was well known by his customers for his wit and relaxed attitude. They seemed to understand that he genuinely "liked to help his customers."
This tradition continues under the auspices of his son, Charles A. Jacobowitz, and his two daughters, Ellen S. Jacobowitz, and Ann J. Conrad.
